Diaphragm valve in the booster is controlled by pneumatic signal from positioner as it is applied to supply the air with high flow-rate at a time for quick opening(closing).
Control Valve Volume Booster Principle
The air flow-rate of 4bar is controlled depending upon the degree of diaphragm deflection pressed by 2-3 bar pressure from positioner as below sketch.
