Hi guys! How to use an Encoder by Factory IO via TIA Portal? Because I can’t see any changes in Watch Table.
This is because encoders connect to high-speed counters (HSC) which from my understanding these are physical hardware bits as opposed to memory bits whereas memory bits are what we use to connect devices from FIO. Thus, your plc internal memory bits cannot keep up with the rate emitted by encoder on FIO. You may have some luck trying out one phase only instead of the entire quadrate of the encoder. Also, my application is with physical hardware. I’ve yet to find out if PLCsim can perhaps simulate HSC and try that myself instead.
