A type of output that once activated, has to be reset before it will deactivate.
Depending on the instrument in use, the reset signal can be given via the keypad/menu, via a digital input or over a communications link. If the instrument does not have the option for latching outputs, external latching relays can be fitted as slaves to internal (non-latching) relays.
