A magnetostrictive level transmitter gives information on the filling level of a tank, a silo or a tank.
magnetostrictive level transmitter
It can perform a continuous measurement of high accuracy and can also measure the levels of two immiscible liquids.
The sensor emits current pulses producing a circular magnetic field. A magnetostrictive wire is present in the transmitter rod.
The magnet mounted in the float magnetizes the wire at its position. The superposition of the two magnetic fields produces a torsion pulse that propagates along the wire to the transmitter head. The period of the course is recorded and analyzed by the electronics.
