GUARD RAILS

Securely fastened, 90 cm to 120 cm high, Gap between toe board and first rail not more or <76 cm="" o:p="">

TOE BOARDS

All rounds protection against objects falling, Minimum high 15 cm.

DECKING/ BOARDS

Close boarded to prevent toes / nuts dropping through, Tied down against wind, Not split or cracked, Free from knots, Minimum thickness 3cm wood.

TUBULARS/ PIPES

No distortion, No cuts or holes, No bents or flattening

SUPPORTS

Upright position, Distance each supports

  • Max. 2.4 m (man working).

  • Max. 1.2 m (load bearing)

FOUNDATIONS

Prepared & level foundation, Sole plates, covering two supports on soft grounding.

ACCESS LADDER

Set at 750 approx (1 in 4 ), Additional horizontal pipe if no ladder available. Is the proper access for ladders? Are ladders secure at least at the top? Are scaffolds constructed by competent personnel? For process sites are no light alloy or aluminium ladders used on site? Scaffolder Inspector certified? Scaffolder certified?

LANDING

Ladder at least 1 m (± 5 rungs) above landing place. Ladder lashed to stiles not rungs

TRANSOMES AS DECKING SUPPORTS

Each board must rest on at least 3 supports. Decking board ends not to extend over support more than 15 cm.

OTHERS

Are safety harnesses used when required? Are scaffold inspections performed after each modification & at least weekly? Are proper records kept? Are proper scaffold entry tag used to inform personnel when it is
