Basically RADAR Level Transmitters broadly classified into two types

  1. Pulsed Type
  2. Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Type

Pulsed Radar Level transmitters emits radar pulses towards the product surface and calculates the level by measuring the time taken to reach product surface and back.

Whereas in FMCW type, transmitter continuously generates a frequency signal towards the product surface and measures the reflected change in frequency signal which is used to calculate the level.
