A Continuous process in which the materials or work flows more or less continuously through a plant apparatus while being manufactured or treated is termed a continuous process. eg: production of sinter, continuous annealing of metal sheets, production of steam, continuously stirred tank reactors(CSTR).
The purpose of such processes is to produce one or more products at
- A given composition
- A given maximum flow rate
- Best economy( employing least materials, energy and time)
