What is Digital Input?

A digital input that can be driven to one of two states (active or inactive) via a logic output/voltage or a by opening/closing a contact.

They are often used to set a device into different states, possibly in a logical combination with other inputs or instrument events.

Typical uses are auto/manual control or setpoint selection, control enable/disable, profile select/control, recorder start/stop, engaging tuning, limit reset, profile selection etc.
