For in-line mounted Temperature Gauges are mounted in the process line same as Temperature Element in Thermowell.
Do remember Thermowell for temperature gauge also need to go for wake frequency calculation as per ASME PTC 19. 2010(latest one as per today).
Tips:- Try to search for some temperature element nearby the Temperature gauge which must be there for Control or indication purpose for automation system. This would be helpful for selecting Range and Thermowell selection.
